Music Therapy

Welcome to spiritual wellbeing post #1. The soundtrack for this post is the album "Flower of the Soul" by artist, Liana Flores and in particular, the song, “Crystalline.”

I can't talk about wellbeing without talking about music. It's amazing the impact music has on the vibration of a space or moment.

In my life, music has been the protagonist of the story. There have been several pathological antagonists. When I was a child, I remember some dark days. Such is life. But my mom had a habit of flooding the house with good music. My parents’ record collection was an absolute treasure trove.

My brother has been a creator of music for the large majority of his life and so he flooded my coming of age with music. This was a bright spot of my upbringing both socially and with respect to ambition; i.e. it was inspirational to see him successfully create and share. I even got involved myself and I feel pretty good about my contributions.

Unfortunately, if you're looking for dark music - music that will resonate with the doom within - it is very easy to find. But, fortunately it's also very easy to alter a moment's energy for the better in an instant with the right song or album.

I recently asked my son to share with me some of his favorite albums of the past year and this Liana Flores album was high on his list. Check it out and enjoy the ride…

Be well,

Wellbeing Grant
